1. Scope and app information

This policy applies to Tapmark (Chinese name: 留刻), Android package com.ml.tapmark, provided by the individual developer boostmerlin. Tapmark is a local-first app for recording moments, organizing topics and tags, and calculating statistics.

2. Data collection summary

Tapmark has no account or sign-in system, developer-operated backend, cloud sync, advertising, behavioral analytics, crash-reporting service, or user-tracking SDK. The app does not automatically transmit your topics, records, notes, tags, statistics definitions, or app settings to the developer or third parties.

Data may leave your device only when you deliberately use a system feature such as exporting or sharing a backup, importing a file, opening an external link, or sending feedback email.

3. On-device data and purposes

Tapmark locally accesses and processes information you enter, including topic titles and descriptions, record times and notes, tags, statistics definitions, and app settings. This information is stored in the app's SQLite database and is used only to provide recording, search, statistics, recycle-bin, backup, and preference features.

Tapmark also reads system language and region settings locally to select the interface language and format dates. When preparing a feedback email, it adds the app version and operating platform to the editable draft. The current version does not access location, contacts, camera, or microphone.

4. Backup, import, and sharing

Tapmark creates a .tapmark backup only when you request an export. A backup may contain active and recycled topics, records, tags, and topic-tag relationships, but it does not contain app settings. Tapmark does not automatically upload backups.

You decide whether to save or send a backup through the system file picker or share sheet. A cloud drive, messaging app, storage provider, or other service you select will process the data under its own privacy policy. Tapmark does not add separate encryption to exported backup files, so you should choose a trusted destination and protect the files appropriately.

5. Feedback email

Selecting Email Feedback opens your system mail app and prepares an editable draft. Nothing is sent until you choose to send it. The draft may include the app version and operating platform.

If you send the message, boostmerlin and the relevant email service providers may receive your email address, message, attachments, and email delivery metadata. This information is used only to review and reply to feedback, resolve problems, and meet reasonable security or legal obligations.

6. Sharing, sale, and third parties

Tapmark does not sell or rent personal data and does not use it for advertising. An external recipient receives data only when you intentionally select that recipient through system sharing, export, email, or an external link.

The app uses Expo, React Native, and open-source components for on-device functions such as SQLite storage, file selection, sharing, haptics, date selection, and interface rendering. The current app does not integrate advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking services.

This privacy-policy website is hosted by Vercel. When you visit it, Vercel may process technical request information such as your IP address, browser details, requested URL, and service logs to deliver and secure the page. This page does not add analytics scripts, advertising trackers, forms, or cookies of its own. Vercel handles hosting data under its own privacy notice.

7. Accounts, retention, and deletion

Tapmark has no user account, so there is no Tapmark account to close. Local data remains until you delete it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Deleted topics and records first enter the recycle bin. Depending on your selected limit of 10, 50, or 100 items, the oldest recycled items are permanently removed automatically; you can also permanently delete an item or empty the recycle bin at any time.

Clearing app data or uninstalling Tapmark removes its local database, subject to operating-system behavior and any device backups you control. You must separately delete exported backups or shared copies from their destinations. Feedback email is retained only as long as reasonably needed to handle the request or satisfy security, operational, and legal obligations. You may request deletion of information sent to the developer by using the contact address below.

8. Data security

Local data is protected by the app sandbox, operating system, and your device access controls. Tapmark does not send record data to a developer server, but no storage method can guarantee absolute security. Exported backups and data sent through email or another app leave Tapmark's control and depend on the security of the destination and service provider you choose.

9. Children and teenagers

Tapmark is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. The app does not ask for a birth date or knowingly collect personal information from children through an account or backend. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent personal information to the developer by email, please contact us so the information can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

10. Policy updates

If Tapmark's data practices change, this page and its effective date will be updated. Where appropriate, material changes will also be communicated through the app, release notes, or another prominent notice. Please review the current policy before continuing to use the app.
